Just sitting along side the midway looking back on memories as they drove past at the last Del Mar Goodguys Show, it was a day to soak in. Glancing down the asphalt corridor, I spied Pete Smith approaching in his badass rod, grabbed my camera and got the shot. If a car looks mean, it better back it up, his does. Read on for the details.
What my "Aussie" mate Pete has created is so very cool, when you see it in person, you know an artist was at work. It's a Dodge '37 cab, on a hand built frame, 5 inch chop, bobbed Dodge bed, Ford tailgate, cut down '39 Ford grill to fit...lots of work! The motor is a 350 Chevy, Keith Black pistons, 4 bolt main, Melling oil pump, Comp "Thumper" cam, roller rockers, Edelbrock heads, topped off with a 671 BDS blower with two 650 Holleys...and it doesn't run on good old Australian Vegemite!
