However you measure wealth, what really counts, is what makes you happy. My day lit up when I received this image from one of my collectors, David Gilbert, showing his new LEGO RSR poised under one of my double float images of the Factory Porsche RSR. He has the perfect combo now!
Speaking of a double float limited edition of 30 image of the RSR called "Spearhead RSR," I have one available and ready to go. It's a 16"x 24" print infused onto metal with the custom metal backing, signed, wired, ready to hang, and enjoy. It's $595 plus $50 shipping in the US. Or email for delivery and I'll refund the shipping. You'll love this image!

Things That Have Power
Discerning people want things that are hard to find, have power and are different. Things that have romance and mystery, but a factual mystery, about them. When I told the story of my framed image at "Laguna Art-A-Fair" to this young family of Tony and Tanya looking for their first art purchase for their new home, they fell in love with it. It's so captivating, the expression of their little one looking over the frame. Makes my heart sing just looking at it.
One big "Thank You" to all that signed up for my email list at the "Laguna Art-A-Fair" and came by to say hi!

Time for a Shout-Out
Yep, it's time for a big "Shout-Out" to all of you that came to my "Automoblia Monterey" show during car week in Monterey! "Thank You"... and to those of you that found a treasure to take home, an even bigger "Thank You." You guys rock! This was the second year that I did this show in conjunction with doing the show in Laguna Beach at "Laguna Art-A-Fair," quite an undertaking planning for two shows at the same time.
Those that were not in Monterey here is a quick look at my show just before it opened, and don't forget the show at Laguna goes through September 1st. Come check it out!

Somewhere North of Tucson
West or east of almost everywhere else in the southwest desert town, I found this truck rooted outside a bar. It drew me inside like a moth to light to inquire. An old jukebox poured out a lonesome song. that makes you yearn for honest, simple things. Things you can't even name. Well, on the other hand,
maybe the honest patina on the heat vents of my image named, "Survivor."
This is a 16"x 24" gloss print infused onto metal and custom made re-purposed barn wood frame. It's wired, ready to hang, and be enjoyed! It can be yours for $450 including shipping here in the US.

Automobilia Monterey
Monterey back in the day was once a remote artist and fishing town along the coast of California, a home to the likes of John Steinbeck and Ansel Adams. Today, of course, it's the go-to place for auto fanatics during August. I'll be there too, with my fine art photography at Automobilia Monterey. Come visit, I'm just inside the door to the right Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. See you there!

Note to Self....
While manning my booth at this years "Laguna Art-A-Fair" my cell rang and I ended up talking with an old buddy. Not that this was unusual, but a customer walking by spied my phone. He stopped and asked where I had gotten the cell case. I replied I print them off my photo site and gave him a card. I guess if it's worth putting phone to ear, it's worth doing it in style. I've just added some new phones to my site, and it will only take a minute or two to find one just for you. And there is no better time other than right now to do it. Here's the link to where to find these and many more: https://www.johnstraubimageworks.com/p166727666

The Wild One
Before the Porsche Factory "Hopped-up" street cars of today emerged, there were 356 Gmund coupes that left a fledgling factory.
Driving these aluminum machines was a new kind of rebel here in the US. Some were young men coming back from the war that were seeking a new kind of sports car. Others joined from a new generation coming of age to a Rock and Roll beat, and breaking more rules than just the speed limit. The Gmund coupes were the start of this being raced in Europe and State Side. This is one of those cars, meet "No Tires Today."
BTW. this was Jerry Seinfeld's car used in the TV production of "Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee."

Alluring at 50 Years Old...
With the 50th anniversary of Porsche's 914 model, I set out to create an image called "Untitled #2" that had the gorgeous hues of its classic "Signal Orange" paint color. What better car to use to have a positively euphoric effect than the 914-6GT, set against an old fire house under the glow of a light. This particular car was used in the 1970 Marathon de la Route. Porsche entered three 914-6GT's in the 86 hour race held at the Nurburgring finishing one, two, and three!
This image can be ordered in a 16"x 24" gloss print infused onto metal with a custom brushed metal backing for $595 or a 24"x 36" for $995. They come signed, ready to hang and enjoy. This is the first time I have offered this image, so the "Artist Proofs" are available and you'll love the detail.

Jewels of Detroit
What could be better than seeing your art go to a collector, and then getting a photo of it hanging in his office! Meet the collection of, Wayne Nentwig of "Gem City Motors" in Sidney, Montana. Wayne is the owner of a Buick/Chevrolet/GMC Dealership and an avid car guy. During a Barrett-Jackson show he and his wife made their way into my booth and fell in love with four of my limited edition prints infused onto metal. I love it when an art collector is born, and makes life a more beautiful place to live or work!
Remember, when your world looks good...you look good...the better you look the better you feel...

Fine Art Photography to Me?
If you look up "Fine Art" here's what you get. "Creative art, visual art, whose products are to be appreciated primarily or solely for their imaginative, aesthetic, or intellectual content."
So what does that mean? To me, it means a photographer can modify an image the way Ansel Adams transformed his images in the dark room. Compare that with an automotive or wildlife image that may be taken for a magazine. That has more of a journalistic purpose.
I want my photos to be appreciated for the way they look. So with Fine Art Photography, anything goes just as with the two images below, the original and finished.
I've always wanted to do a drag racing image that showed movement and action close up. You can just imagine the sound of a dragster at the point the butterflies are cracked open sucking massive amounts of air, and the power is laid down. Meet "Deep Throat" This is a new image that is available printed on photographic paper, available in several sizes on my website at this link: https://www.johnstraubimageworks.com/p175506786
